Lakefront Perspectives is a series of public sensemaking conversations at Emerge Lakefront, bridging polarities through dialogue rather than debate.
In November, Lakefront Perspectives #2 asked whether changing the game might be the only way to win. This evening picks up where that question leaves off: if the rules need to change, who gets to rewrite them – and how do we do it together rather than simply replacing one set of winners with another?
Lakefront Perspectives #3 brings Erik Fernholm and Pamela von Sabljar back to the stage to explore the craft of collective rule-making: how groups, communities and organisations can notice the agreements they live by, question them openly and shape new ones that make room for care, trust and shared responsibility.
As the year draws to a close, it is also an invitation to look ahead. What kinds of rules would we want to bring into the year to come – in our workplaces, our neighbourhoods and our own lives?
This is for anyone who senses that a different game is possible, and is curious about the practical, human work of writing its rules together.
